James Cameron's Avatar info

I know I'm not the only sci-fi nut eagerly awaiting James Cameron's upcoming movie Avatar, so when I heard this nugget of information I thought dissemination of it was of utmost importance. Science fiction is definitely Cameron's forte, though he can also easily pull off a tear jerker as well, Avatar sounds like it might be a thought provoking bit of both.
Avatar will apparently run for two and a half hours and feature a new way of filming. This new way is apparently a technique Cameron has hit upon for photo-realistic CGI humans and human like characters. This will be interesting to see given most CGI humans stand out like a sore thumb, given we've got inbuilt mechanisms in our grey matter for picking up discrepancies.
Avatar stars Sigourney Weaver and the story revolves around a distant future when a paraplegic war veteran (Jake - played by Sam Worthington) finds himself on the planet Pandora and utilizing an 'avatar' of himself remotely to undertake mining work. The eco friendly overtones of the film will allegedly see Jake take up arms against people who wish to rape the planet of its natural resources.
Avatar is set to open next year.
